The No. 21 Golden Knights look to get back into the win column after a tough stretch of duals, hosting Shippensburg in a PSAC matchup Friday night at the Hammermill Center. Nine of Gannon's wrestlers appear in the latest NWCA Super Region 1 rankings, including nationally ranked
Freddie Nixon (Buffalo, N.Y./St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute) (5th),
Alex Farenchak (Painesville, Ohio/Riverside) (8th) and
Dom Means (Pittsburgh, Pa./Central Catholic) (12th). The Raiders, who feature four grapplers ranked in the region, are coming off a 1-2 performance at the Kutztown Duals last week, and dropped their only PSAC dual of the season 36-6 to Seton Hill earlier this month. Gannon will honor five seniors —
Faris Messai (Jamestown, Pa./Jamestown),
Giovanni Ciotti (Erie, Pa./General McLane),
Anthony Williamson (Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown),
Patrick Walker (Hatboro, Pa./Upper Moreland) and
Darnell Parker (Geneva, N.Y./Geneva) — prior to the dual, and the Gannon competitive cheer and dance teams will perform an exhibition during intermission between 157 and 165 pounds.
