The Lady Knights continue their three-game road trip at conference rival Mercyhurst Wednesday night. Kickoff is set at 7:30 p.m. at Saxson Stadium. The Lakers lead the all-time series 24-7-5 heading into this week's match. The Knights picked up their seventh win in the series last season with a 2-1 victory on Merychurst's turf.
Maddie North (Leysdown-on-Sea, England/The Westlands School) and
Taylor Lewis (Erie, Pa./Harbor Creek) scored in Gannon's win last year. The Knights are coming off their first loss of the season having dropped Saturday's match 4-2 at Seton Hill. The Griffins scored four straight goals before North and
Emily Cekella (Harmony, Pa./Seneca Valley) tried to rally for the Knights each scoring a goal. Gannon would come up just short.

The women close their three-game road trip on Saturday with a mid-day match at Indiana (Pa.). The teams will play on the South Campus Field beginning at 1:30 in the afternoon. IUP leads the all-time series 15-12-1 heading into the weekend. The Crimson Hawks took a 2-1 win over the Knights last year in Erie.

The Lady Knights are back in action this weekend with three straight home matches as they co-host the Gannon-Edinboro tournament. First on the slate, Gannon will play St. Rose for their home opener on Friday at 3 p.m. followed by Walsh at 6 p.m. in the Hammermill Center. They will wrap up the tournament at 2 p.m. on Saturday with their final match vs. Malone. The Knights lead the all-time series with all three teams. They have played St. Rose and Malone once in program history and lead both series 1-0. Gannon leads Walsh 5-4 as they head into their tenth meeting. Gannon is coming off a 2-2 weekend at the UIndy Invitational. They picked up back-to-back wins over Indianapolis and Minnesota State-Moorhead and look to make a strong debut at home this weekend.

Women's Golf to Play in Cumberland Trail Classic
Â
Women's golf is back in action this weekend at the Cumberland Trail Classic. The Lady Knights will golf two rounds beginning Saturday morning. Last season, the women finished fourth out of 15 teams at the Classic. Gannon is currently at the Glade Springs Intercollegiate heading into round two. After round one, the Knights sit just two shots back of host Charleston for the lead.
Carley Sawyer (Rainbow Lake, N.Y./Saranac Lake) had a team-best round one score of 71.
Maria Arenas (Bogota, Colombia) sits with a score of 77, while the rest of the team brought in score below 85. The Knights opened the season with a first place win at the Evann Parker Memorial and a second place finish at the Michael Corbett Fall Classic in the opening weekend.

The Lady Knights Will Also Be in Action at the Allegheny Women's Invitational

Women's golf will also send a team to the Allegheny Women's Invitational beginning Sunday and finishing up on Monday. The tournament will be at the Country Club of Meadville in Meadville, Pennsylvania. This will be the fifth straight year the women have traveled for this tournament.

Men's Cross Country Set to Race at LHU Invite
Â
Men's cross country hits the ground running this Saturday at the LHU Invite in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania. The race is set to start at 10:30 a.m. The Golden Knights finished 11th last season at the Division II/III Challenge hosted by Kutztown.
Joseph Westrick (Pittsburgh, Pa./Chartiers Valley) brought in a fourth place finish with a time of 25:57.1, while
Ryan Garich (Erie, Pa./Cathedral Prep) placed 11th with a time of 26:23.1. Westrick has finished in the top five in eight of his past 10 races. This will be the first time the Gannon men have raced in the Lock Haven Invite since the 2009 season when they finished eighth out of nine teams.

Women's Cross Country Set to Race at LHU Invite

The Lady Knights will compete at the LHU Invite in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania this Saturday at 11:30 a.m. Gannon is coming off an eighth place finish at the Division II/III Challenge last weekend.
Meredith Morse (Rochester, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland) and
Sarah Fiorello (Lake View, N.Y./Frontier) led the women finishing less than twenty seconds apart. All five of the Gannon scorers were withing 40 spots and one minute of each other in the 159-runner field. The Knights last ran at the LHU Invite in the 2009 season when they finished fourth out of nine teams.

The men look to improve to 4-0 at District of Columbia this weekend. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at UDC's soccer field. Gannon is off to the best start in program history since the 2009 season when the Golden Knights opened the year going 9-0. The all-time series between Gannon and UDC is tied 3-3. The teams last met in the 2016 season. The Knights are coming off a 3-0 shutout win over Lock Haven last weekend on senior night.
Alex Lee Yaw (Jamestown, N.Y./Mercyhurst Prep) scored the game winner in the seventh minute of the match.
Ivan Manfredi (Chiavari, Italy/Liceo Scientifico Marconi Delpino) and
Tinashe Katsande (Norwich, England/Dereham Sixth Form College) each added another goal powering the Knights to their second straight shutout.
Chandler Hallwood (Halifax, England/Woodhouse Grove), back-to-back PSAC West Defensive Player of the Week, made six stops in the goal for Gannon.

Men's Golf to Play at Mercyhurst Fall Invite

The Gannon men return to Pennsylvania to play in the Mercyhurst Fall Invitational hosted in North East at the Lake View Country Club. The Golden Knights placed ninth at the tournament last season out of 13 teams.
Michael Marsico (Aspinwall, Pa./Fox Chapel) placed six for Gannon out of 84 golfers last year. The Gannon men are wrapping up the final round at the Glade Springs Invitational Monday afternoon. As of Sunday, the men were tied for the lead at 19 over with two individuals in the top 10.
Connor Bennink (West Chester, Pa./Unionville) leads the Knights with a score of 147, while
Ethan Bennett (Stoney Creek, Ontario/Cardinal Newman Catholic) comes in at 149.
