ERIE, PA - Maria Martinez (Barcelona, Spain/Jesuïtes Gràcia Col·legi Kostka) has been named the WWPA Offensive Player of the Week, it was announced by the conference today. This is the second time this season that the freshman has earned this honor. 

Martinez not only leads Gannon in scoring, but the conference in scoring as well, with 60 goals at the conclusion of the regular season. She's also racked up an astounding 28 points over her last five games. 

Her 16 points on Saturday helped the Golden Knights earn the second seed tiebreaker over McKendree for the conference tournament. She would score six goals and have 10 points against the Bearcats and notch another three goals against Mercyhurst to help Gannon earn the second seed. In those games, Martinez shot .500 or better. 

The Golden Knights will prepare for WWPA Championships from April 10th-12th in Irvine, CA.
