GANNON TEAM NOTES
- Gannon is slotted fifth in the recent NCAA Division II Atlantic regional rankings released on April 25.
- Seven PSAC teams are ranked in the Atlantic Region's top-10.
- The Lady Knights clinched their second consecutive regular season PSAC Western Division title last Saturday with a doubleheader split at Slippery Rock.
- Gannon finished with a 15-5 conference record.
- It is Gannon's eighth-straight trip to the PSAC Tournament.
- The Lady Knights have the second-lowest ERA in the conference at 2.17. Junior Kellyn Perich (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) is 5-0 in the circle with a 1.70 ERA. Rookie Kennedy DeMatteis (Boyers, Pa./Moniteau) stands with a 9-7 record and 2.24 ERA, while sophomore Madi Beining (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) is 11-5 on the year with a 2.31 ERA. Beining has also logged five shut outs.
- The GU pitching unit has held opponents to a .260 batting average, which is the fourth-lowest in the conference.
- Gannon has the PSAC's sixth-highest batting average at .301. Freshman Kaity Stocker (Tipp City, Ohio/Tippecanoe) (.369) leads the charge with nine homers and 38 RBI. Senior Jackie Martinez (Phoenix, Ariz./Xavier College Prep) (.368) has a team-high 43 hits, 12 doubles and two triples. Martinez has reached base safely in 18 consecutive games.
- Gannon ranks second in the PSAC with 33 homers. The Lady Knights have recorded at least two home runs in each of the last three games and at least one homer in the last six games.
- In contrast, Gannon's pitching staff has only surrendered 10 homers this season, which is the second-least in the 17-team conference.
- Gannon is 2-10 all-time against Bloomsburg.
- The Lady Knights last met the Huskies in the second round of last year's PSAC Tournament on May 4, 2017. Bloomsburg scored five runs in the top of the ninth inning to beat Gannon 7-3 in extras.
UP NEXT
- With a win against Bloomsburg, Gannon would move on to face the winner of West Chester vs. IUP/Cal-U on Thursday, May 3 at 3 p.m. A loss would put Gannon up against the loser of that same matchup.
- The winner of the PSAC Tournament will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA regional tournament running May 10-12.
