INDIANA, Pa. – The Gannon softball team dropped both games of a PSAC doubleheader Sunday afternoon at Indiana (Pa.), falling 7–5 in game one and 9–3 in game two.
Gannon showed power early in game one, getting home runs from
Emily Spears (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler Area),
Bella Atherton (Kittanning, Pa./Armstrong), and
Alli Novick (Pinckney, Mich./Pinckney Community) to build a lead midway through the contest.
The Golden Knights carried a 5-3 advantage into the sixth inning before Indiana (Pa.) used a four-run frame to take control and secure the win.
In game two, Indiana (Pa.) used a five-run third inning to create separation. Gannon answered with three runs across the fourth and fifth innings, highlighted by an RBI double from
Ashley Fox (Cowansville, Pa./Karns City) and an RBI single from
Jenna Clontz (Kittanning, Pa./Armstrong), but could not complete the comeback.
