  • The Golden Knights struck first in the third inning. Jared Beach (McDonald, Pa./Canon-McMillan) led off the inning with a double down the left field line. Beach moved over to third on a wild pitch before Ian Steighner (Chicora, Pa./Butler) clubbed a double, driving in Beach.
  • Gregory Nicolia (Grand Island, N.Y./Grand Island) followed with a ground ball that moved Steighner over to third. Mike Colosi (Niagara Falls, N.Y./Niagara Falls) came to the plate and lifted a ball to left field for a sacrifice fly, plating Steighner. Gannon led 2-0 after three innings.
  • IUP got things rolling in the sixth. The Crimson Hawks tied it at two on Nate Dickey single that plated a pair.
  • Indiana (Pa.) went ahead on a Ted Santi double that plated Dickey. When the dust all settled, IUP claimed a 6-2 lead.
