HOW IT HAPPENED - GAME ONE
  • Both teams scored a run during their first at-bat. Gannon tied the contest during the bottom of the first inning when junior Charles Benack (Jefferson Hills, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) reached on an error, moved to second base on a ground-out and scored on redshirt freshman Jared Beach (McDonald, Pa./Canon-McMillan)'s two-out single up the middle.
  • Seton Hill snapped the deadlock with a single run during the top of the fifth inning and extended its lead with another run during the sixth inning.
  • With two outs and a runner on third base during the bottom of the sixth inning, Callaway blasted a 1-1 pitch over the left field wall to tie the game at three.
  • Seton Hill put its first two hitters on base during the top of the seventh inning, but junior Joey Colosi (Niagara Falls, N.Y./Niagara Falls) was able to get Mark Colella to hit into a double play and then escaped the jam with a fly-out to center field.
  • Benack led off the bottom of the frame and reached base on an error. After senior Andrew Wagner (Akron, Ohio/Walsh Jesuit)'s sacrifice bunt pushed Benack to second base, redshirt sophomore Nate Cardy (Franklin, Pa./Franklin) was intentionally walk. Beach followed with another walk to load the bases, before Quiceno ended the contest with a single up the middle on a 3-1 count.
