HOW IT HAPPENED - GAME ONE
  • Gannon jumped on Seton Hill with five runs during its first three at-bats. Junior Jared Wiesen (Girard, Ohio/Liberty) started the scoring with a lead-off home run on the second pitch he saw during the bottom of the first inning.
  • The Golden Knights extended their lead to 4-0 when freshman Matt Oruch (Blue Bell, Pa./Wissahickon) hit a three-run homer to right field in the bottom of the second inning. The blast followed lead-off hits by Aaron Cox and Kyle Cox (Dorchester, N.J./Millville).

  • Gannon took firm control during the bottom of the fifth inning with another bomb. Senior Sean Sutton (Toronto, Ontario/Brebeuf College) drilled a two-out, two-run no-doubter over Fifth Street beyond the right field wall, giving the Golden Knights a 7-0 advantage.
  • Seton Hill managed to get on the scoreboard with a pair of runs on RBI ground-outs in the seventh inning, before Aaron Cox shut the door on a 7-2 victory.
