  • California (Pa.) cut the deficit to 5-3 during the top of the fourth inning, but Gannon responded immediately with its own two runs on three consecutive extra-base hits during the bottom half of the frame.
  • Bellanca tripled over the centerfielder's head with one out. Freshman Kyle Cox (Dorchester, N.J./Millville) then stepped to the plate and doubled off the right field wall. • The Vulcans answered back with three runs during the top of the fifth inning to climb within 7-6.
  • Gannon gave itself a little breathing room with a single tally during its fifth-inning at-bat. Wiesen led off the frame with a triple to left center. Two batters later, Bellanca's single through the left side gave the Golden Knights a two-run lead.
  • California (Pa.) kept coming though, scoring four unearned runs in the sixth inning to jump ahead 10-8. The Vulcans' big inning included four hits and two errors.
