Meet: Carnegie Mellon Quad-Meet

The Short Story – The Gannon women's swim team was swept by Clarion (146-143), NCAA Division III Case Western Reserve (175-118) and host Carnegie Mellon (204-89), Saturday afternoon in Pittsburgh, Pa. Three Gannon swimmers took home individual first place finishes, along with a relay first place finish.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Freshman Courteney Hubert (North Huntington, Pa./Irwin) took home first place honors in the 200-yard freestyle with a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) qualifying time of 1:59.13.
• Senior Emily Nottingham (Titusville, Pa./Titusville) followed with her second PSAC qualifying time and first place finish of the season in the 50-yard freesytle with a time of .24.51. Following that she took home second place in the 100-yard freestyle to Lydic with a PSAC qualifying time of 54.31.
• Senior Morgan Lydic (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio/Cuyahoga Falls) shaved time off her 100-yard freestyle swim, with a first place finish and PSAC time of 53.59. Prior to that she took second place to teammate Nottingham in the 50-yard freestyle with a PSAC time of 24.75.
• Madeline Summers (Lake Stevens, Was./Lake Stevens) finished third in the 200-yard freestyle with a PSAC qualifying time of 2:01.91
• The squad of Nottingham, Lydic, Hubert, and Summers took home first place in the 200-yard Freestyle Relay with a time of 1:39.57.
• Meghan Terwilliger (Grove City, Pa./ Grove City Area) and Summers went four and five in the 200-yard Butterfly with PSAC times of 2:18.23 and 2:18.53, respectively.
