Gannon Softball Team Begins Quest for PSAC Championship Wednesday in Quakertown

ERIE, Pa. – The Gannon softball team begins its quest for a conference championship Wednesday, May 1 against Bloomsburg during the opening game of the 2013 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Tournament in Quakertown, Pennsylvania. Game time is scheduled for 10 a.m. It marks the Lady Knights' third straight conference tournament appearance. The 2013 PSAC Tournament concludes Saturday, May 4 with the championship game.

Gannon-Bloomsburg History: Bloomsburg has won three consecutive games against Gannon and leads the all-time series 6-1. The Huskies have defeated the Lady Knights during the last two PSAC Tournaments, winning 7-1 during the first game last season and 4-0 during the second game in 2011. Gannon's only victory against Bloomsburg came during the 2007 spring trip with a 4-0 victory.

PSAC Tournament Format: The top three teams in each of the PSAC's three divisions qualified for the nine-team conference tournament scheduled for May 1-4 at Veteran's Park in Quakertown, Pennsylvania. The PSAC Tournament is a double-elimination event with an automatic bid to the NCAA Division II Tournament going to the winner.
