Gannon Men's Water Polo Team Earns Come-From-Behind win over Washington & Jefferson

Daisuke Takagi finished with four goals during Gannon's win over Washington & Jefferson.
ERIE, Pa. – The Gannon men's water polo team came out on top following a back-and-forth affair with Washington & Jefferson Sunday at the Carneval Athletic Pavilion, earning a 14-13 win.
 
The Golden Knights trailed after the first eight minutes after the Presidents opened with a 4-2 scoring advantage. Gannon answered with a five-goal second quarter. The defense limited W&J to just three scores to knot the score at seven at the break.
 
Washington & Jefferson appeared to take control of the match in the third quarter thanks to a 4-1 scoring advantage; however the Golden Knights rallied in the final eight minutes. Gannon exploded for five goals in the final frame and held the Presidents to just two scores to come away with the 14-13 win.
 
Adam Wolf (Worthington, Ohio / Thomas Worthington) lead the Golden Knights with five scores. Daisuke Takagi (Tsukuba, Japan / Namiki) added four while Jake Oullette (San Diego, Calif. / Scripps Ranch) tallied three. Neal Zoellick (Homewood, Ill. / Homewood-Flossmoor) turned away 10 shots in goal.
 
Gannon improved to 4-7 this season with the victory. The Golden Knights will face off again with W&J in two weeks, representing Gannon's next match.
