SALEM, W.Va. – The Gannon men's water polo team picked up two road victories while logging a day's worth of miles Saturday. The Golden Knights began the day with a 14-13 victory at Washington & Jefferson Saturday morning, before traveling to Salem International for a 9-6 win Saturday night.

Gannon was in a fight throughout its first match at Washington & Jefferson. The Golden Knights led 4-2 after one quarter, 8-5 at halftime and 12-10 after three quarters. The Presidents out-scored the Knights 3-2 during the final frame, but couldn't draw even during the one-goal loss.

Daisuke Takagi (Tsukuba, Japan/Namiki), Jake Ouellette (San Diego, Calif./Scripps Ranch) and Cody Sherman (Erie, Pa./McDowell) completed the scoring with one score each. Neal Zoellick (Homewood, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor) turned away six shots between the pipes.

In the nightcap, Gannon held a 4-2 halftime lead after a low-scoring first half. The Golden Knights scored the only goal of the first quarter, before out-scoring the Tigers 3-2 during the second frame. Salem International responded with a 4-2 advantage during the third quarter, before the Knights iced the victory with a 3-0 shutout in the last quarter.

Nimrod paced Gannon with four goals. Takagi and Wolf added two scores each. Bean assisted the scoring output with one goal. Zoellick recorded eight blocks against Salem International, including a big save on a five-meter shot.
