ERIE, Pa. – The Gannon softball team was eliminated from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Tournament after suffering losses to Kutztown and Bloomsburg. The Lady Knights end the 2011 campaign with a 20-20 record.

In the first game, Gannon suffered a 9-1 loss to Kutztown. The Lady Knights scored once on four hits while committing three errors. The Golden Bears scored once in the fifth inning and four times in both the second and sixth innings en route to the win.

With Kutztown leading 5-0, Gannon added one run in the sixth inning with a double from Katie Killian (Akron, Ohio / St. Vincent-St. Mary). The base hit plated Sam Scott (New Baltimore, Mich. / Anchor Bay), who singled down the left field line earlier in the inning.

Kutztown answered with four runs in the bottom half of the inning, enforcing the eight-run rule.

Killian had two of Gannon's four hits with the other two coming from Scott and Sarah Rinks (Fenton, Mich. / Lake Fenton).

Against Bloomsburg Shavaun Fisher earned her 15th win of the season after holding the Lady Knights to just two hits in the game. She struck out nine while allowing just one walk.

Kelly Trace (Columbus, Ohio / Bishop Hartley) broke up the no-hitter by leading off the sixth inning with a single to right field. Killian recorded Gannon's only other hit in the game with a single in the seventh inning.

Erica Bartholow (Connellsville, Pa. / Connellsville Area) scattered six hits and three earned runs over six innings of work. The junior struck out three batters and walked one.

Gannon finishes the season with a 20-20 record. Bloomsburg and Kutztown improve to 29-5 and 37-11 respectively.
