No. 9 Gannon Women's Lacrosse Team Returns Home Tuesday Afternoon to Host East Stroudsburg

The Gannon women's lacrosse team hosts East Stroudsburg Tuesday, before heading back on the road this weekend.
ERIE, Pa. - The No. 9 Gannon women's lacrosse team returns to Gannon University Field Tuesday, March 29 for a single home match against East Stroudsburg. Game time is scheduled for 4 p.m. It will be the Lady Knights' only home contest during a current four-match stretch that concludes this weekend on the road.

Gannon brings a 6-2-1 overall record and 3-1 PSAC mark into Tuesday's contest. The Lady Knights are coming off a 1-1-1 week that saw the team tie NCAA Division I Niagara (12-12), fall at eighth-ranked West Chester (18-5) and defeat Kutztown (11-8). The squad is tied with rival Mercyhurst for third place in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) standings. The top six teams qualify for the post-season tournament.

Mary Eshenour (Waterloo, N.Y./Waterloo) headlines the Gannon offensive attack with 34 goals, four assists and 38 points. The senior also leads the team in game-winning goals (2) and draw controls (26). Jess Fugate (Wooster, Ohio/Wooster) is second in scoring with 26 goals, six assists and 32 points.

Caitlyn Fisher (Cypress, Texas/Cy-Fair) and Rachel DerCola (Rochester, N.Y./Brighton) have evenly split the feeder role. Fisher has 13 goals and 13 assists while DerCola has added 12 goals and 13 assists.

Margaret Maslyn (Penn Yan, N.Y./Penn Yan Academy) has played every minute in goal, producing a 10.33 goals against average and .438 save percentage.

East Stroudsburg owns an even 4-4 overall record and 2-2 PSAC mark. The Warriors are coming off a 15-13 home victory against Indiana (Pa.) last Saturday.

Senior Molly O'Hara leads East Stroudsburg into action with 24 goals, seven assists and 31 points. Seniors Michelle Mangiaruga and Jamie Wesztergom complete the Warriors' double-digit scorers with 15 and 10 goals, respectively. Sophomore Katie Zollo has started six of eight matches in goal, owning a 11.95 goals against average and .472 save percentage.

Gannon leads the all-time series against East Stroudsburg 2-0, posting a 14-13 road victory in 2002 and a 12-9 home win in 2000.
