PRINCETON, N.J.- The ninth-ranked Gannon women's water polo team lost to George Washington 13-4 Sunday at the Princeton Invitational.
GW went ahead 5-1 after the first quarter and outscored the Lady Knights 3-1 in the second. Things didn't improve for GU in the second half, as the Colonials added six more scores.
Annie Greenhill (Brea, Calif./Brea Olinda) scored twice, while
Kendra Plackemeier (Bonsall, Calif./Fallbrook) and
Liz Clary (Canton, Ohio/Glen Oak) each scored a goal for Gannon.
Janelle Bartman (Buffalo Grove, Ill./Stevenson) made seven saves in net and
Libbie Guina (Houston, Texas/Clear Brook) recorded two blocks.
The Knights dropped to 0-7 with the loss. They travel to California for the Chapman Tournament February 27-28 for four matches.
