ERIE, Pa. - The Gannon women's swimming and diving team beat California (Pa.) at the Carneval Athletic Pavilion Saturday afternoon. The men lost to Niagara College.
The Lady Knights won 170-112 as
Sam Bluhm (Alliance, Ohio/Alliance) took first in the 500 freestyle, 200 free and 200 backstroke. Jackie Rzymek (Erie, Pa./McDowell) touched the wall first in the 100 and 200 butterfly and the 200 yard medley relay and 400 freestyle relay won.
Sarah Lawton (Franklin, Pa./Franklin) also won the 100 breaststroke,
Kaitlyn Bosy (Courtice, Ontario/Holy Trinity Catholic Secondary) took first in the 100 free, and
Megan Beresford (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield Area) was the top diver from one and three meters.
Niagara won on the men's side 169-125.
Kyle Lazenby (Erie, Pa./McDowell) took first in the 100 and 200 backstroke and
Mitchel Meighen (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park) touched the wall first in the 100 breaststroke and 200 IM. The 200 yard medley relay won,
Jason Jamieson (Cape Town, South Africa/Rondebosch) won the 200 free, and
James Lilly (Bowie, Md./Bowie) took gold in the 200 breaststroke.
