Gannon Men's Golf Team Finishes Third while Hosting Gannon Fall Invitational

Senior Rob Hersch led the Gannon team with a 77 and a fourth-place finish.
ERIE, Pa. - The Gannon men's golf team completed a busy weekend with a third-place finish out of seven teams Monday afternoon at its own Gannon Fall Invitational hosted by the Lake Shore Country Club.

Millersville won the team title with a 307. Mercyhurst (319), Gannon (323), West Chester (326) and Edinboro (341) completed the top five.

Nicholas Magenta of Millersville played as an individual and captured the individual title with an even-par 72. He posted a 37 on the front nine, before finishing with a 35 on the back nine.

Rob Hersch (Erie, Pa./Cathedral Prep) was Gannon's top golfer, finishing tied for fourth place with a 77. Derek Aicher (T12th, 81), Jason Ramus (T12th, 81), Corey Bowers (T20th, 84) and Matt Barnes (T20th, 84) completed Gannon's five-member team. Dom Lombardi competed as an individual, finishing ninth with a 79.

Gannon concludes the fall season Saturday, October 17 and Sunday, October 18 at the 2009 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships hosted by the Wrendale Golf Course in Hummelstown, Pa.
