Gannon Baseball Team to Host Four-Game Series With Ashland

The Gannon University baseball team is set to host a pair of doubleheaders this weekend against the Ashland University Eagles at Gannon University Field. The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) games begin at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 19 and noon the following day.

Jonathan Dziomba (Williamsville, N.Y./St. Joe's Collegiate) leads the Golden Knights in batting (.365), hits (35), doubles (7), triples (3), and RBIs (25). The junior also tops Gannon (7-21, 3-13) with three home runs, his last coming in game two against Findlay on Tuesday. Dziomba crushed a critical three-run homer to right field in extra innings to tie the score.

Greg Radwan (Farnham, N.Y./St. Francis) hit the game-winning RBI, his 19th of the year. Radwan is batting .301 in 93 plate appearances.

Evan Euler (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills) carries Gannon's best ERA (4.52). Euler is 2-3, earning his last win in relief against Findlay, and has made seven appearances on the mound.

Pitcher/first baseman Ben Minard leads Ashland (24-10, 6-4) with a .500 batting average. The sophomore has 41 RBIs on 52 hits.

As a pitcher, Minard is 5-3 with a 4.28 ERA after eight starts and 10 appearances.
