Hughes was part of eight victories during the Gannon acrobatics and tumbling team's 277.26-263.06 win against Alderson Broaddus last Saturday at the Hammermill Center. The meet was a battle of ranked teams as the Lady Knights are tabbed fifth nationally and the Batters are ninth. Hughes helped Gannon pulled away with a pair of victories in the tumbling event, being part of the winning trio in the triple pass with a 9.3 score and going solo with a 9.775 score for a six-element pass victory. The sophomore was part of a superb team routine that clinched the final decision with a 96.06 score. Hughes was also part of victories in the pyramid (9.9), toss (9.9) and tumbling (8.95) heats of the compulsory event. She then worked with other Lady Knights to win the 450 salto (9.3) and synchronized (9.45) heats of the toss event. Hughes has been part of 36 heat wins this season and 52 during her two-year career.
