Wahl helped the Gannon baseball team gain a four-game split with a 2-1 complete-game victory during the final contest of the series. The senior pitcher allowed only a seventh-inning run, but stranded the tying run on first base after getting the final two batters to fly out to center and ground out to third. He struck out a career-high seven hitters while throwing 123 pitches. Wahl stranded 12 Crimson Hawks on the base, including six in scoring position. In addition, he left a runner in scoring position during five of seven innings. Wahl worked out of a bases-loaded, no-out jam during the second inning without giving up a run. He lowered his ERA 53 points to a 3.79 mark with Saturday’s performance. The Somerset, Pa., native has won three consecutive decisions and thrown two straight complete games, giving him four this season.
