Westrick led the Gannon men's cross country team to a ninth-place finish last Saturday at the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional. The sophomore became the program's first all-region first-team runner since Gannon rejoined the Atlantic region in 2008, completing the 10k race in 32 minutes and 4.1 seconds. His individual finish was the best regional finish in program history. Westrick finished 43.8 seconds behind the final national championship qualifying spot while shaving two minutes and 31 seconds off last year's regional time. He posted the best regional finish and time of his career. Westrick finished the year with three individual titles. Beyond the individual accomplishments, he helped Gannon recorded its best NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional finish in program history. The squad's best previous finish since rejoining the Atlantic Region in 2008 was 11th place in 2014.
