Marotto earned his first-ever trip the NCAA Division II Wrestling National Championships with a fourth-place finish in the 141-pound weight class at the NCAA Division II Super Regional One last weekend. After a first-round bye, the redshirt junior defeated Ohio Valley's Ryan Bennett 2-1 in the championship quarterfinals. Following a loss in the semifinals, he rebounded with a 3-2 decision against No. 3 seed Dylan Nace of East Stroudsburg. Marotto was 0-2 against Nace this season prior to Saturday's encounter. He then fell in the third-place match to No. 2 seed Sam Hanau of Pitt-Johnstown, who is ranked No. 8 in NCAA Division II. Marotto was able to finish fourth without wrestling a true fourth-place bout due to his previous victory over would-be opponent Dylan Nace of East Stroudsburg. He will enter the national championships with a 16-11 overall record.
