Wiechelt led both teams during last Saturday's Gannon-Indiana (Pa.) football game with 13 tackles and one tackle for a loss. The redshirt senior linebacker reached double digits for the second consecutive game and sixth time this season. He cracked Gannon's all-time top 20 in tackles, jumping four players and moving into a tie for 16th place with Joe Dipre (2004-05) and Todd Proper (1996-99) with 216 career tackles. Wiechelt became the eighth Golden Knight in school history to record 100 tackles in a season. He can tie Pat Rodkey's single-season record (120 in 1996) with 15 tackles during next week's regular-season finale. Wiechelt was consistent throughout and ended strong, making five tackles in the fourth quarter. He recorded three tackles in the first quarter, three in the second quarter and two in the third quarter. Wiechelt is Gannon’s leading tackler through 10 games with 105 which is 47 more than his previous career-high set last year as a junior.
