Ross helped the Gannon wrestling team finish third out of nine teams at the Mount Union Invitational last Saturday. The redshirt freshman won his first collegiate title with a 3-0 record at 157. He had to be precise during tight wins of 5-4, 4-1 and 3-1. Ross advanced to the final with a 5-4 victory against West Liberty's Daniel Carpenter and a 4-1 win against Lake Erie's Nathan Ball. He completed the title run with a 3-1 decision against Seton Hill's Zach Voytek during the finals. Ross is 7-2 overall after going 4-2 the previous week at the Mercyhurst Open which consisted of several NCAA Division I programs and top NCAA Division II squads.
