Wendel turned in an all-around performance during a weekend that saw the Gannon volleyball team go 3-0 and become one of only two teams to complete the sweep of PSAC East-West Crossover play. The setter hit .444 while totaling 105 assists (10.5/set), 25 digs (2.50/set), 14 kills (1.40/set), six aces (0.60/set) and four block assists (0.40/set). Wendel, who leads the conference in assists per set, ran a Gannon offense that hit an impressive .298 and averaged 14.2 kills per set during the weekend. Wendel opened her weekend with a 33-assist performance against Cheyney. The sophomore put away four of her five attempts for kills, not committing an error for an .800 hitting percentage. She added three service aces to total seven points. Later that night, Wendel recorded a double-double with 41 assists and 13 digs. She added three kills, three block assists and one service ace. Wendel came close to a triple-double during the final match against West Chester with 31 assists, nine digs and seven kills. The setter kept the West Chester defense off balance all day with seven of her nine attempts going for kills for a .667 hitting percentage. She finished with two service aces and a block assist. With Wendel running the offense, Gannon totaled at least 42 kills and hit better than .226 during each match last weekend.
