Bellanca led the Gannon baseball team to a split of a four-game series against Slippery Rock last weekend, helping the Golden Knights finish as the PSAC Western Division regular-season co-champions. It represented the first divisional title in school history. Bellanca hit .467 with a .533 slugging percentage and a .467 on-base percentage. The sophomore had multiple hits during three of the four games. In the process, he raised his average 20 points during the series to a .336 mark for the season. During Gannon’s 6-3 victory on Saturday, Bellanca cut a 2-0 Slippery Rock lead in half with a one-out double before scoring two batters later on a sacrifice fly. He capped a five-run sixth inning that put Gannon in the lead with a two-out, two-run single.
