Thies averaged a double-double in two games last week for the Gannon women's basketball team against Edinboro and Indiana (Pa.), posting 17 points and 16.5 rebounds per game. The senior forward also blocked three shots during those two contests. She shot 50 percent (11-22) from the field and 85.7 percent (12-14) from the free throw line. The Lakewood, N.Y., native began the week by recording her 10th double-double with 17 points and a career-high 21 rebounds during a 60-48 victory against Edinboro, finishing three rebounds shy of the school record. Thies helped ice the Edinboro victory by making 9-of-10 free throws. She produced a double-double in the second half alone as Gannon out-scored Edinboro 36-25, recording 14 points and 12 rebounds during the final 20 minutes. Thies ended the week with her 11th double-double of the season, producing 17 points and 12 rebounds at Indiana (Pa.). She went 7-of-12 from the field and 3-of-4 from the free throw line against the Crimson Hawks. The effort included 12 points and six rebounds during the first half to help keep Gannon within one point (24-23) at the intermission. Thies moved into 38th place all-time at Gannon in scoring (709) last week and jumped four players into 12th place in rebounding (592). She is Gannon's leading rebounder (12.6) and second-leading scorer (13.2) through 20 games.
