Sazama is Gannon's female student-athlete of the week for the third time this year after leading the Gannon volleyball team to its first-ever conference championship last weekend at the Hammermill Center. As a result, the senior outside hitter was named PSAC Tournament Most Valuable Player. She recorded double-doubles in all three postseason matches, giving her 21 this season and 69 during her career. Gannon was forced to come from behind during all three matches. Sazama recorded 50 kills, 47 digs, seven assists, six service aces and six blocks during the playoff run. She had 17 kills and 25 digs during a 3-2 victory against Shippensburg in the PSAC semifinals. Sazama then produced 19 kills and 12 digs during a 3-2 win against Lock Haven in the PSAC Championship. The Lady Knights ovecame a 2-0 deficit to win the title.
