INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The NCAA today released its initial set of Division II women's basketball rankings that rank the teams.

Last week's poll ranked the teams in alphabetical order. The PSAC West has been hotly contested all year and that is reflected in this week's Atlantic Region poll.

Three of the top four teams are in the Western Division with four PSAC squads appearing in the top ten. All reside in the Western Division.

Indiana (Pa.) is the top-ranked team in the Atlantic Region at 22-1. (NOTE: the NCAA uses records vs. Division 2 teams only). Gannon is right behind holding down the second spot in the poll. The two teams square off for the second time this year at IUP on Saturday.

The Golden Knights are not only looking for a sixth straight appearance in the Atlantic Regional but also have captured the regional championship and reached the Elite Eight the last two years.

Long-time head coach Cleve Wright has guided Gannon to a 24-3 record marking a fifth straight year with 20-or-more wins and eighth in the last nine years.  The Golden Knights play this evening at Clarion before concluding the regular season on Saturday.

Winston-Salem State, a member of the CIAA, is third in the Atlantic Region poll at 22-2. Seton Hill (17-7) is fourth with Fayetteville State (19-4), the second CIAA team in the rankings, completing the top five.

Glenville State (20-5) is the initial team from the Mountain East Conference in sixth place, followed by fellow MEC member Fairmont State (19-7). Edinboro is the fourth team from the PSAC West with the 15-11 Fighting Scots ranked eighth.

Concord (17-9) and Charleston (WV) (17-9), both from the MEC, complete the Atlantic Region top ten.

The NCAA will release its third set of rankings next Wednesday, March 4 and the 64-team field for the 2026 NCAA Division II Tournament will be announced on Sunday, March 8.
