CLARION, Pa. – No. 6 Gannon used a dominant third quarter to pull away from Clarion and secure an 85–60 PSAC West victory Wednesday evening at Tippin Gymnasium. The Golden Knights outscored the Golden Eagles 28–9 in the third period to turn a seven-point halftime lead into a commanding advantage.
Gannon shot 57.4 percent from the field and 45.0 percent from three-point range, building its largest lead at 28 late in the fourth quarter. The Golden Knights also finished 22-of-25 from the free-throw line and held Clarion to 32.7 percent shooting for the game.
Jordan Popyk (Novi, Mich./Novi) scored a career high 23 points, and was tied with Bri Claxon (South Webster, Ohio/South Webster) for a team high on the evening. Taylor Ethridge (Chesapeake, Va./Catholic) also had a career night, pouring in 12 for a career high.
