Mackenzie Morgan (Sydney, Australia/Marist Catholic College North Shore) helped spark a defensive resurgence for the No. 13 Golden Knights last week, earning PSAC West Men's Basketball Defensive Athlete of the Week honors following two conference victories and helping Gannon improve to a 9–1 PSAC record.

This honor marks Morgan's second PSAC Defensive Athlete of the Week award and the third defensive honor of the season for the Gannon men's basketball program.

The 6-foot-4 guard from Sydney, Australia, played a key defensive role in wins over Seton Hill and Indiana (Pa.), recording a team-high five steals and two blocks while also averaging 7.0 rebounds per game. 

His efforts helped Gannon hold opponents to just 62.0 points per game during the week.

Against Seton Hill, he finished with seven rebounds, two blocks, and a steal, anchoring the Golden Knights' defensive effort in an 88–59 victory. He followed with another strong showing against Indiana (Pa.), posting four steals and seven rebounds in a 92–65 win.

The Golden Knights forced 43 turnovers over the two games and improved to 15–2 overall.
