Lopes Named PSAC Women’s Golfer of the Week After Record-Setting Debut

The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) announced Wednesday that Gannon freshman Anastasia Lopes (Noverasco di opera (MI), Italy/ISTITUTI DEAMICIS MILANO) has been selected as the Women's Golfer of the Week following a standout performance in her collegiate debut.

Lopes helped lead the Golden Knights to a record-setting first-place finish at the UC Invitational hosted by Charleston. Gannon captured the team title by six strokes over Charleston and, in the process, set a school record for lowest 36-hole team score with a total of 595, breaking the previous mark of 599 by four strokes.

Competing on the par-71 Edgewood Country Club layout, Lopes was steady across both rounds, posting a pair of 73s (+2). Her consistent play earned her a second-place finish individually with a 146 (+4) total, just three shots behind medalist Lucia Martin of Charleston (+1)

This marks the first career weekly honor for Lopes, who quickly established herself as one of the PSAC's top newcomers while helping the Golden Knights open the 2025–26 season in historic fashion.

Lopes and the Golden Knights are back on the course Sept. 13–14 at the ODU Invitational, hosted by Ohio Dominican.
