ERIE, Pa. – The Gannon baseball team will play its final non-conference game on Tuesday, April 22 hosting D'Youville. First pitch for the nine-inning game is set for 2:00 p.m. at McConnell Family Stadium.

The two teams were originally slated to play a week ago at Gannon and then play at D'Youville this Tuesday. Poor weather conditions forced the cancellation of that game. The teams agreed to play at Gannon on April 22.

This will mark the second nine-inning for Gannon and D'Youville this season. The Golden Knights traveled to Sal Maglie Stadium in Niagara Falls, N.Y. on March 18 with Gannon coming away with an 8-5 win.

The score was 8-5 after four innings but Gannon's bullpen proceeded to shut out the Saints over the last five innings. Dylan Crowley (Eden, N.Y./Hamburg) went the first five innings, allowing just two earned runs. Brady Berdine (Warren, Pa./Warren Area) threw one shutout inning, Nick Robertson (Pittsburgh, Pa./Central Catholic) followed with a pair, and Jaret Boyer (New Wilmington, Pa./Wilmington) closed out the win with a scoreless ninth.

Alex Bemis (Monroe, Ohio/Monroe) paced the Golden Knights at the plate with a 3-for-5 effort, driving in a run. Chris Mullins (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell) had two hits and two RBIs and Ian Soto (Florida, Puerto Rico/Academia Cristiana de Manati) also had a pair of hits with an RBI.

Gannon comes off a four-game series with Seton Hill that saw the Golden Knights lose three times. That leaves the Golden Knights with a 15-23 record. D'Youville has a deceiving 12-26 record after splitting four games with Queens College. The Saints have lost ten games to nationally-ranked teams.

Following Tuesday's non-conference game Gannon returns to PSAC West action with a four-game series against Lock Haven on Friday, April 25 and Saturday, April 26. Gannon hosts the Bald Eagles on Saturday and will also celebrate Senior Day.
