Acrobatics & Tumbling Synchronized Toss Earns At-Large Bid to NCATA Event Final

Golden Knights set to compete on Sunday, April 27 at the NCATA National Championships

The Gannon University Acrobatics & Tumbling team will once again be showcased on the national stage, as the Golden Knights' synchronized toss has earned an at-large bid to the NCATA National Championships Individual Event Finals.

The finals are scheduled for Sunday, April 27, and will be hosted by Augustana University at the Elmen Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, as announced by the National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association (NCATA) on Sunday.

The group of Kylie Brown (Virginia Beach, Va./Salem), Charisma Felix (Las Vegas, Nev./College of So. Nevada High School West), Layna Bergeron (Johnston, R.I./La Salle Academy), Peyton Oliver (Vallejo, Calif./Jesse M. Bethel), Paytyn Neal (Fairmont, W.Va./Fairmont Senior High), Megan Revell (Richland, Wash./Richland High), Lillie Fritz (Chandler, Ariz./Chandler), Kamryn Kameg (Jefferson Hills, Pa./Thomas Jefferson), Alex DeAngelis (Audubon, N.J./Camden Catholic High School), Lauren Rupert (Central Square, N.Y./Paul V. Moore), and Reagan McMahon (Mission Viejo, Calif./Santa Margarita Catholic) secured their spot in the synchronized toss event by posting the highest season average among non-championship qualifying teams, finishing with an impressive average of 9.050.

"We are stoked to have a qualifying event for the NCATA Event Finals," expressed head coach Brandy Duren. "We've won this event in years past, so if we could pull it off again it would be an awesome way to close out this season."

The Golden Knights will look to capture their fourth consecutive national championship in the synchronized toss event. Gannon has dominated the category in recent years, earning national titles in 2024 (9.600), 2023 (9.475), and 2022 (9.700), solidifying their status as one of the most consistent and elite groups in the country.

The 2025 NCATA National Championships will take place April 24–27 at the Elmen Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The top eight teams in the country will compete in a single-elimination, bracket-style tournament beginning Thursday, April 24, with quarterfinal matchups. Semifinals will follow on Friday, the National Championship meet will take place Saturday evening, and Individual Event Finals will close out the competition on Sunday morning, April 27 at 10:00 a.m.
