The Gannon University women's lacrosse team heads back on the road this Saturday to face a major test in No. 17 Slippery Rock. Opening draw is set for 12:00 p.m. at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium in a PSAC West showdown.
The Golden Knights are looking to bounce back after a narrow 13-12 setback to Lock Haven on Wednesday. Gannon enters the matchup at 4-8 overall and 1-4 in conference play.
Caroline Stevens (Syracuse, N.Y./Liverpool) has been a standout, leading the team with 31 goals and 61 draw controls.
Ella Todd (Maple Ridge, British Columbia/Maple Ridge Secondary) continues to be the offensive catalyst with a team-high 50 points, while
Charlie Hunter (Boston, N.Y./Hamburg) has added 30 goals and 45 draw controls to round out Gannon's top threats.
The Rock enters at 10-1 overall and unbeaten in the PSAC West at 5-0. When the teams met earlier this season in Erie, Gannon fell 20-9. Since then, Gannon has won three of five and will look to carry that momentum into Saturday's rematch against a nationally ranked Slippery Rock.
Following Saturday's matchup, Gannon will face IUP on Wednesday, April 16, at George P. Miller Stadium with a 3:00 p.m. start in continued PSAC West action.
