Golden Knights look to build win streak to two, earn PSAC West win in midweek clash with Edinboro

GANNON GOLDEN KNIGHTS at EDINBORO FIGHTING SCOTS
DATE/TIME: Wednesday, April 2, 2025 | 4:00 PM
LOCATION:  Sox Harrison Stadium - Edinboro, Pa.

The Gannon University women's lacrosse team will make a short trip south to take on local rival Edinboro on Wednesday, April 2, inside Sox Harrison Stadium. With both teams looking for their first conference win, the midweek clash brings added urgency to an already spirited local rivalry.

The Golden Knights are coming off a solid 13-8 win over Charleston (WV), snapping a three-game skid. Offensively, Gannon has been led by a dynamic trio: junior attacker Ella Todd (Maple Ridge, British Columbia/Maple Ridge Secondary), who leads the team with 37 points (15 goals, 22 assists), midfielder Caroline Stevens (Syracuse, N.Y./Liverpool) (22 goals, seven assists), and Charlie Hunter (Boston, N.Y./Hamburg), who recently surpassed 100 career draw controls while adding 20 goals and 34 draws this season. The Knights are averaging 10.7 goals per game while shooting at an efficient .457 clip.

Gannon has been sharp on free-position opportunities, converting at a 51.7% rate (30-for-58), and they hold a slight edge in draw controls (133-124).

Edinboro enters the game on a seven-game losing streak following a promising season-opening win at Coker. The Fighting Scots are averaging 7.0 goals per game and have struggled to keep up with opponents offensively, having been outscored 127-56 through eight games. Junior attacker Rylee Jones (14 goals, 10 assists) and senior Jacqui Detelich (15 goals) lead the offensive efforts, while midfielder Olivia Kaminsky has been a force on the draw, collecting 41 draw controls.

The Fighting Scots have battled turnover issues of their own (180 turnovers) and have struggled to clear the ball consistently, with a .605 clear percentage. In net, Addy Ours has logged most of the minutes, posting 88 saves with a .447 save percentage.
