Here's a closer look at the Gannon Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2025:

Larissa (Smith) Anderson '98 (Softball 1994-97)
Larissa (Smith) Anderson was one of the pioneers of what has become a top regional softball program. The native of Lake George, N.Y. began her career in the infield as a shortstop and third baseman for head coach Mike Corbett before emerging as a standout while patrolling center field.

Despite a diminutive stature she was a five-tool player who could hit for average while combining power and speed. (Smith) Anderson played for the Golden Knights from 1994-97, leading Gannon to 128 victories during that period. She helped Gannon reach the GLIAC Playoffs as a junior and senior after making the ECAC Tournament her first two years.

(Smith) Anderson hit .300-or-better all four years with a high of .374 as a freshman. She had five doubles, six triples and four home runs while stealing 11 bases. The Golden Knights would go on to finish at 30-15 and win the ECAC Championship.

The following year she ranked among the Division II leaders in triples with eight while hitting .317 with 23 RBIs. As a junior (Smith) Anderson was an honorable mention All-GLIAC selection while finishing third in the conference in home runs (5) and fifth in stolen bases (12). She hit .316 while helping Gannon to a then school-record 35 wins.

(Smith) Anderson moved to the All-GLIAC second team as a senior while hitting .333 and leading the Golden Knights in stolen bases (15) along with ranking second in home runs (6) and RBIs (34). She was also named to the NCAA Division II Great Lakes All-Region Team in 1997.

She concluded her career with school-records for runs (155), home runs (18) and triples (25), while ranking second in RBIs (97), hits (183), and stolen bases (46). While she no longer holds those records she still remains among the career leaders in numerous categories.

Corbett welcomed (Smith) Anderson as an assistant coach and it has led to a highly successful career in coaching. She currently serves as the head coach at the University of Missouri where in six seasons as head coach she has led the Tigers to five NCAA Regional appearances and a pair of Super Regionals. All told she owns 350 career wins as a head coach.

(Smith) Anderson received her bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation from Gannon in 1997. She is married to Patrick Anderson, who is a manager in the St. Louis Cardinals organization.

Annie (Greenhill) Demaline '10 (Women's Water Polo 2007-10)
Annie (Greenhill) Demaline was a standout on the women's water polo team from 2007-10. She was a three-time first team All-CWPA selection who ranks among the career leaders in several categories.

The native of Brea, Calif. ranks fourth in career goals (209), fourth in assists (90) and seventh in steals (168). She holds the school record for earned kickouts with 91 in 2010. She led the Golden Knights in scoring her final three seasons.

(Greenhill) Demaline helped Gannon post a 16-11 record in her initial season in 2007. She finished second on the team in goals (51) and assists (34) along with ranking second in points with 85.

She would go on to lead the Golden Knights in scoring the following three seasons. In 2008 she finished with 62 goals, more than double any other player on the team, adding 14 assists for 76 points. She was also third in steals with 32. The 62 goals rank ninth in a season. At the conclusion of the season she was named to the All-CWPA first team for the first time. Gannon finished fourth at the CWPA Western Division Championships.

In 2009 (Greenhill) Demaline led the Golden Knights in goals (47), assists (17) and points (64). She once again paced the team with 42 steals. Gannon ended the year with an 11-8 record, finishing third at the CWPA Western Division Championships. The Golden Knights ended the year tenth in the CWPA final poll. She earned a spot on the first team All-CWPA Team for the second straight year and was also selected to the 2009 CWPA All-Tournament First Team.

(Greenhill) Demaline concluded her brilliant career with 49 goals and 25 assists in 2010, leading the Golden Knights in both categories. In addition, she led the team in steals with 40. She was named to the All-CWPA first team for the third straight year. At the time the 49 goals ranked ninth in a season.

In addition to her abilities in the pool (Greenhill) Demaline was a standout in the classroom. She was a two-time CWPA All-Academic selection (2008 and 2010) and 2009 ACWPC All-Academic honoree.

Don Henry (Men's Wrestling, Head Coach 1984-23)
Don Henry came to Gannon in 1984 with the task of resurrecting the wrestling program. Thirty-nine years later he retired at the conclusion of the 2022-23 season, but not before building one of the most respected programs in Division II.

The numbers quantifying Henry's success are staggering. He accumulated 233 wins while mentoring 47 All-Americans, 35 regional champions, 115 national qualifiers, and 139 NWCA Scholar All-Americans.

Henry was named the NWCA Division II National Coach of the Year in 2021 and was the NCAA Super Regional One Coach of the Year in 2017 and 2021. In addition he was selected the NCAA East Region Coach of the Year three times.

This is the third Hall of Fame induction for the former Harbor Creek High School standout. He was inducted into the NCAA Div. II Wrestling Coaches Association Hall of Fame in March of 2014 at the NCAA Division I National Championships. In 2016 he was inducted into the Slippery Rock University Athletics Hall of Fame. In addition, he received the NWCA Robert Bubb Coaching Excellence Award in 2003 and again in 2012.

Henry's success was not immediate at Gannon. He was hired to resurrect a program that had been dormant since 1971. His first team in 1984-85 went 0-10 in dual meets and finished 12th out of 12 teams in the regional.

Gannon went 15-58 in dual meets during Henry's first six seasons, but he was steadily building the foundation for his program. He placed his coaching emphasis on wrestler development, not dual-meet records.

Throughout the years, he propelled the program into the national spotlight, regularly sending multiple wrestlers to the NCAA Championships. Henry coached his first All-American in 1987-88 when Sean Haight placed seventh at Nationals at 126 pounds. The Knights had their first winning season under Henry in 1990-91 when they went 6-4, led by 134-lb. All-American Tom Boyd (sixth place), who later became Henry's long-time assistant coach and is now Gannon's head coach.

The 2000-01 season stands out as a special one as Gannon placed seventh at the NCAA Championships, the highest finish ever, while Doug Joseph won Gannon's lone national championship at 197 pounds.

The Golden Knights excelled in the classroom as well. The program ranked 20th in Division II with a 3.163 grade-point average in 2022-23, and the team had nine NWCA Scholar All-Americans. That type of academic success was a hallmark during Henry's time as head coach.

Henry received his bachelor of science degree in Parks and Recreation from Slippery Rock in 1983. He was a four-year wrestler at Slippery Rock and served as team captain his last two seasons. He was a three-time PSAC place winner. He was a two-time NCAA Division I national qualifier at 142 pounds.

In addition to serving as Gannon's wrestling coach he was a longtime Director of Intramurals and the Carneval Athletic Pavilion at Gannon until stepping down from both positions during the summer of 2014.

On January 28, 2017 the University held a Blessing and Dedication for the newly-constructed wrestling room that was part of the Gannon Recreation and Wellness Center renovations thanks to an estate gift of $50,000 by Henry in memory of his deceased wife. The gift named the Don and Diane Henry Wrestling Room.  Henry was married to his current wife Mindy on Sept. 1, 2023.

Marcus Jones '20 (Football 2016-18)

A native of Painesville, Ohio Jones was a 5-foor-11, 225 lb. running back who possessed an impressive combination of power and speed. With 455 yards and 4 TDs on 72 carries as a sophomore no one could have predicted the numbers he would put up over the next two years.

He opened the season with 201 yards and three scores against Southern Connecticut State signaling a remarkable campaign that finished with 2,176 yards with 29 TDs on 269 carries, all school records. While leading all NCAA divisions in rushing with 197.8 ypg., he was an AFCA All-American along with being named a first team Associated Press All-American. In addition, he was a D2CCA, D2Football.com and Football Gazette All-American. He became the second Golden Knight to be named the PSAC West Offensive Athlete of the Year and was the ECAC Offensive Player of the Year.

He holds career records for yards passing (11,160), passing touchdowns (82), and total offense (11,863). He also holds career records for pass attempts (1,460), pass completions (851) and completion percentage (58.3 pct.).

After redshirting in 2011 Nadler took over as the starter in 2012 and immediately set the season record for yards passing with 2,910. He completed 242-of-428 passes with 21 TDs and 21 INTs.

The 6-foot-7, 235 lb. quarterback would lead the Golden Knights to winning seasons in each of his next three years, including a 9-2 record in 2014. That is tied for the most wins in school history. He threw for 2,859 yards with 16 TDs in 2013, adding 14 TDs rushing, a school record for a quarterback. He earned second team All-PSAC West honors.

He repeated as a second team honoree in 2014 while leading the Golden Knights to nine wins. He was also named to the Football Gazette All-Region third team. That all came after he completed 199-of-318 passes for a career-best 62.6 percent for 2,750 yards with 21 TDs and just four INTs. He added 386 yards and 12 TDs rushing. He threw for a school-record 494 yards with 5 TDs against Seton Hill, one of four games with 400-or-more yards in his career.

As a redshirt senior Nadler threw for 2,641 yards with 24 TDs and 6 INTs. He completed 186-of-337 passes. It left with him with 23 career wins as a starter, the most by a Gannon quarterback. He also had a stretch of 302 passes without an interception from 2014 into 2015, yet another school record.

Nadler's academic accomplishments were possibly even more impressive. He is the only Golden Knight named to the All-State AFCA Good Works Team, named in 2016. He was a second team CoSIDA Academic All-American in 2014 and 2015. He was a semifinalist for the Coach Wooden Citizenship Cup.

Nadler was selected the 2015-16 Gannon Male Senior Student-Athlete of the Year. He went on to play in the 2016 Dream Bowl in Virginia Beach, Va. and participated in the New York Jets' Rookie mini-camp.

Nadler graduated magna cum laude with his bachelor's degree in Political Science in 2014. He currently resides in Leipsic, Ohio with his wife Kelsey and sons Auggie and Sawyer. He has enjoyed a successful indoor football league career and also is a farmer, running Nadler Farms.

Mary (Eshenour) Mitchell '11 (Lacrosse 2008-11)
Mary (Eshenour) Mitchell was a standout on the women's lacrosse team from 2008-11. She remains the career leader in goals with 246 while ranking third in career points with 290.

The native of Waterloo, N.Y. helped usher in Gannon's entry into the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference and helped the Golden Knights reach the PSAC Tournament her final two seasons.

A four-year starter, (Eshenour) Mitchell made an immediate impact as a freshman, finishing as the team's fourth-leading scorer with 57 points while ranking second in goals with 51. The Golden Knights ended the year at 12-5-1 and ranked 13th by the IWLCA.

After earning second team All-PSAC West honors in 2009 and 2010 she moved up to the first team in 2011. In fact, (Eshenour) Mitchell was named the PSAC West Athlete of the Year and remains the only Golden Knight to earn the award.

Amanda Teodorsson '14 (Women's Golf 2010-14)
Amanda Teodorsson becomes the second women's golfer to earn induction into the Gannon Athletics Hall of Fame. She joins former teammate Diana Carolina Muñoz Sanchez, who was inducted in 2023.

The native of Sävedalen (Gothenburg), Sweden competed for the Golden Knights from 2010-14. That was during the early stages of Gannon's entry into the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference, and it was the start of Gannon's dominance in women's golf.

Teodorsson helped lead Gannon to PSAC championships in 2011, the first in school history, and 2013. She never finished lower than fourth at the PSAC Championships.

Gannon fell eight strokes shy of California (Pa.) in the team standings in 2010. As a freshman Teodorsson was tied for the lead after the first round before coming in fourth with an 18-over total of 162.

Teodorsson led by two after the first round of the 2011 PSAC Championships and this time she maintained that lead. As a sophomore she became Gannon's first individual champion. She followed up a 76 on the first round with a 77 over the final 18 holes to win by five strokes.

Gannon finished second to Cal at the 2012 PSAC Championships. Teodorsson fired a pair of 78's to finish fourth. She added a third place finish in her final appearance at the PSAC's in 2013 with a 16-over 158 total.

In addition to earning All-PSAC honors all four years Teodorsson was named the 2010-11 PSAC Freshman of the Year. In 39 career tournaments she had 14 top-5 finishes and 22 top-10 showings. She finished her career with an 80.1 average.

Joseph Westrick '20 (Men's Cross Country 2016-20)
Joseph Westrick is the first true individual men's cross country runner to be inducted into the Gannon Athletics Hall of Fame. The 1967 team was previously honored and among his many accomplishments Howard "Bud" Elwell served as the head coach.

It's fitting that the native of Pittsburgh, Pa. is the initial harrier to be inducted. While competing from 2016-19 he accomplished a number of firsts. Most noteworthy he was Gannon's first PSAC cross country Athlete of the Year after winning Gannon's first PSAC championship in the 2019 season.

Westrick was Gannon's first three-time All-Region performer with a fourth-place finish at the 2019 Atlantic Region championships, earning him a spot at the NCAA Division II National Championships for the second consecutive season. He finished 81st in the NCAA Championships in 2018 and 135th in 2019.

Westrick earned All-PSAC honors three times (2017-19). He qualified for the NCAA Division II National Championships as a junior and senior and earned first team All-Region honors his final three seasons.

He fell just shy of earning All-PSAC honors as a freshman finishing 34th, then went on to finish 34th at the Atlantic Regional. He took off as a sophomore crossing the finish line in 11th place at the PSAC Championships to earn first team All-PSAC honors. As a team the Golden Knights came in seventh, the highest finish ever. Two weeks later he was accorded All-Region honors following a 19th-place showing at the Atlantic Regional.

Westrick emerged in the top pack of runners his final two years. In 2018 as a junior he captured fourth place at the PSAC Championships followed by a fifth-place finish at the Atlantic Regional. He led Gannon to an eighth-place finish as a team, the top showing ever by the Golden Knights.

After becoming the first Gannon harrier to qualify for the national championships Westrick wrapped up his stellar career with several more firsts as a senior in 2019. He won the PSAC championship with a time of 25:20.3, nine seconds ahead of his closest competitor, as Gannon finished ninth. He became a three-time All-Region performer thanks to a fourth place showing, in the process helping the Golden Knights match their eighth-place finish in 2018. Westrick went on to be named the PSAC Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Year, a first for a Gannon runner.

Typical of head coach John Carrig's teams, Westrick was also a standout in the classroom. He was Gannon's first NCAA Elite 90 Award recipient, receiving the honor in 2019. He was a two-time first team CoSIDA (CSC) Academic All-American, earning the honors in 2019 and again in 2020. He was also a PSAC Fall Top 10 Award recipient twice and as a senior he was named the PSAC Pete Nevins Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year. In addition, he was selected the 2019-20 D2CCA Atlantic Region Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
