BETHANY, W.Va. – The Gannon cross country teams will compete in their second meet of the season on Saturday morning when they run in the Bethany Bison Invitational.

The races will be held at the Bethany College Practice Soccer Fields and Equestrian Complex. The women will run in a 6K at 10 a.m., followed by the men in an 8K at 11 a.m.

The Golden Knights are coming off a pair of second-place team finishes at their home meet, the season-opening Race in the Park, at Pleasant Ridge Park in Fairview on Sept. 6.

The Gannon men swept the top two spots in that race as junior Luka Malena claimed first place in 18:47.9 and graduate student Ely Personius (Buffalo, N.Y./Amherst Central) was right behind at 18:54.9.

Two freshmen led the Gannon women at the Race in the Park. Emily Bowers (Silver Creek, N.Y./Silver Creek) placed third in 16:31.7, and  Alexis Abbett (Sharpsburg, Pa./Aquinas Academy) was fourth at 16:40.7.
