GANNON GOLDEN KNIGHTS AT RIT CHEER AND DANCE CLASSIC

The Gannon competitive cheer and dance team will conclude its regular season on Saturday with a final tune-up for Nationals.

Coach Kerri Makay's teams will travel to Rochester, N.Y., to compete in the RIT Cheer and Dance Classic at Ritter Arena on the campus of the Rochester Institute of Technology. RIT and Alfred wll also compete . This is the last of five competitions on Gannon's 2024 regular-season schedule.

The Golden Knights are coming off their annual home meet, the Road to Daytona Showcase, which took place last weekend at the Erie Sports Center. Gannon also celebrated Senior Day and held its annual Make-A-Wish Day fundraiser.

The GU Game Day cheer squad's performance drew outstanding scores from the judges as they finished with a score of 95.3 points, a record total for Gannon at the competition. The Gannon Team Performance dance crew also emerged with a convincing win.

After Saturday's competition, Makay and her teams will focus on the NCA & NDA Collegiate Cheer and Dance Championships, which are scheduled to take place April 11-12 at Daytona Beach, Fla.
