Gary Miller Classic Canceled Due to Heavy Snow and Treacherous Travel Conditions

ERIE, Pa. – Gannon University Director of Athletics Lisa Goddard-McGuirk has announced that the 40th Annual Gary Miller Classic has been canceled. The annual Thanksgiving weekend tournament was scheduled for Saturday, November 30 and Sunday, December 1 with Mansfield, Walsh and West Virginia State rounding out the field.

The Erie area and the tri-state region has received heavy lake effect snow since early midnight on Friday and the conditions are predicted to continue over the weekend. Travel has become treacherous with restrictions on I-90, I-79 and I-86. In the interests of the safety of the teams, officials, game personnel and fans the difficult decision was made to cancel this year's tournament.

The Gannon men's basketball team returns to action next weekend playing at Mansfield on Friday, December 6 and at Shippensburg on Saturday, December 7.
