Freshman Emily Bowers (Silver Creek, N.Y./Silver Creek) finished 18th with a time of 23:17.1 to earn second-team All-PSAC honors to lead the Gannon women's cross country team to an 11th place finish on Saturday morning at the 2024 PSAC Women's Cross Country Championships.

Kutztown University hosted the event at the North Campus Farm Loop Cross Country Course with 17 teams and 157 runners covering the 6K race.

Slippery Rock repeated as the PSAC team champion after posting a 70-point performance. Shippensburg totaled 88 points to finish second and outpaced East Stroudsburg (91 points), who finished third. Kutztown finished fourth (122 points), while Bloomsburg (133 points) finished fifth. Gannon finished 11th with 292 points.

Slippery Rock's Anna Igims was crowned the individual champion, covering the 6k Upper Campus Cross Country course with a time of 21:26.5. Morgan Janiuk of Millersville, finished second at 21:58.1, while Slippery Rock's Ruthie Hughes came in third at 22:00.2.

Gannon had three other runners finish in the top 100 of the 157 field. Megan Ickes (Greenville, Pa./Greenville) was 51st (24:16.0), while Elissa Scheel (Medina, Ohio/Highland) placed 55th (24:19.8) and Taylor Friello (Erie, Pa./Mercyhurst Prep) rounded out the effort finishing 95th (25:23.8).

The Golden Knights next compete in the 2024 NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional hosted by Lock Haven on Saturday, November 9.
