Marco Strong in Goal but Golden Knights Fall Twice on Sunday in Conference Crossover

ERIE, Pa. – After a wild day of action on Saturday play settled down a little more on Sunday in the Conference Crossover but the Gannon men's water polo team was unable to come up with a victory. The Golden Knights lost for the fourth time this season to a nationally-ranked team in their opener, falling 19-10 to No. 20 George Washington, then dropping an 18-13 decision to Bucknell, a team receiving votes in the national poll. The latter was a rematch of last year's fifth-place match in the Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference Championships. The Golden Knights are now 1-7 overall and 1-3 in conference play.

Gannon returns to action on Friday, September 30 playing in the Penn State Behrend Invitational. The Golden Knights will face host Behrend on Friday at 6:00 p.m. before playing a pair of exhibition contests the next day against Florida and Cornell.
