Gannon Looks for Season Sweep of Edinboro on Wednesday

– The Gannon women's lacrosse team returns to McConnell Family Stadium on Wednesday, April 13 looking to snap a three-game losing streak. The Golden Knights (4-8, 2-5 PSAC West) host an Edinboro team that has lost six straight matches while falling to 1-8 overall and 0-5 in league play.
 
Gannon suffered back-to-back losses to D'Youville and Mercyhurst by a goal each before falling at Lock Haven 14-8 on Saturday. The Golden Knights defeated Edinboro earlier in the year 23-0, the third shutout in team history. The Fighting Scots last played on April 5, also losing to Lock Haven by a 16-2 score.
 
Third-year head coach Jennifer Pawlowski has molded a young team into a dangerous unit that features several dependable scorers. Macy Hepditch (Waterloo, Ontario/Resurrection Catholic) has taken over the team lead in points with 38 on 26 goals and a team-high 12 assists. The sophomore had scored 16 goals in the last four contests, including seven goals and an assist in a win over Slippery Rock.
 
McKenna Woodworth (Horseheads, N.Y./Horseheads), the 2021 PSAC West Freshman of the Year, leads the team with 29 goals, adding eight assists for 37 points. She earned second team All-PSAC West honors a year ago after leading Gannon in goals (40), assists (60), and points (46). She ranked sixth in the PSAC in goals.
 
Caroline Stevens (Syracuse, N.Y./Liverpool), a freshman, has 26 goals and three assists for 29 points, while Rachel Tufts (Erie, Pa./McDowell) adds 19 goals and three assists for 22 points. Alli Jacobs (Eden, N.Y./Eden) has contributed 15 goals. Tufts led the PSAC in goals in 2020 with 22 and points with 27.
 
Pawlowski has employed both Cheyenne Jess (Stratford, N.J./Sterling) and Kendra Delissio (Export, Pa./Franklin Regional) in goal. Jess has played the last three games in goal. The seniopr has 74 saves and a 13.90 GAA in 444 minutes. Delissio has played 283 minutes and has a 9.98 GAA.
