ERIE, Pa. – The Gannon men's water polo team heads to Massachusetts this weekend to face a strong field at the Harvard Invitational. Head coach Shane Unger's team will play four contests, beginning with a game against Harvard on Saturday, October 16. The Crimson are ranked 13th in the latest Men's Varsity Top 20 and come in with a record of 13-2. That game is set for 10:15 a.m. at the Blodgett Pool.

Saturday concludes with a 5:00 p.m. contest against Connecticut College, who comes in with a 0-4 record. The Golden Knights will take to the pool for two more games on Sunday, October 17. The day begins with a 10:30 a.m. game vs. Brown, who is 9-8. Gannon dropped a 17-10 decision to Brown the opening weekend of the season at the Bruno Classic. The Golden Knights conclude the tournament against MIT. The Engineers enter the weekend with a 3-8 record but are ranked eighth in the latest Men's Varsity Division III rankings.

A week ago, head coach Shane Unger squad extended its winning streak to five games with an 8-1 win over Mercyhurst in the first of three games at the CWPA Weekend. They would end the weekend with a pair of tight losses to McKendree (11-8) and Salem (11-10), with each match not decided until the final minutes. That left the Golden Knights with a 6-5 record.

Drago Marjanovic (Belgrade, Serbia/North Allegheny (Pa.)) paces the Golden Knights with 26 goals. The senior from Belgrade, Serbia scored 7 goals in the first meeting with Salem, a high for a Gannon player this season. Redshirt senior Tony Squeglia (Erie, Pa./Cathedral Prep) adds 16 goals, with Robert Bolmanski (Fairview, Pa./McDowell) next with 13 goals. Tim Baer (Oceanside, Calif./Classical Academy) (12), Vlad Mickic (Subotica, Serbia /Nikola Tesla) (11) and Dylan Schmitzerle (Richmond, Va.) (10) are also in double digits.

Jacob Hollo (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) and Alvaro Marco (Madrid, Spain/IES Ortega y Gasset) have been splitting time in goal, with Hollo, a junior, playing the first half and Marco, a freshman, taking over in the second half.
