ERIE, Pa. -- After almost a two week break, Gannon returns to the hardwood with a two-game home-and-home series with No. 25/RV Daemen on Friday and Sunday. The Golden Knights will travel to Daemen on Friday at 6:00 PM before wrapping up the series at Hammermill Center on Sunday at 2:00 PM. 

QUICK HITS
  • Gannon begins the week with a 2-0 overall record after picking up back-to-back wins over Kentucky State on Jan. 12 and Jan. 13 at Hammermill Center. 
  • This will mark the 12th all-time meeting between these two programs and first since the 2012-13 season when the Golden Knights topped the Wildcats, 65-46, to win the 29th annual Gary Miller Classic. Gannon holds the edge in the all-time series, 10-1. 
  • Chris Clancy (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Peter's Boys) leads the Knights with a team-high 15.0 points per game, while Ike Herster (Sharon, Pa./Kennedy Catholic) is the only other Knight averaging double digits in scoring with 12.0.
OFF TO A GOOD START
  • Gannon started the 2020-21 season with back-to-back wins over Kentucky State at Hammermill Center. It marks the Knights' best start to a season since 2012-13 when Gannon started 5-0.
  • In the season opener against Kentucky State, the Knights rolled past the Thorobreds, 83-58. Gannon notched its largest margin of victory in a season-opening contest since it topped Urbana, 78-42, in the 2008-09 season. 
  • With the win, the Knights improved to 56-20 all-time in season openers, including a 45-6 mark at home. 
SHARING THE ROCK
  • As a team, Gannon is averaging 19.0 assists per contest. The Knights passed out a season-high 24 assists in game one against Kentucky State on Jan. 12. The performance marked the most assists in a game since the Knights handed out 27 against Clarion on Jan. 14, 2017.
  • In his Gannon debut, Braden Olsen (West Linn, Ore./West Linn) waisted no time getting his teammates involved in the action passing out a game-high and career-best 12 assists. 
  • He was the first Knight to reach double digits in assists in a game since Jimmy Berger notched 14 against California on Jan. 3, 2017. Olsen was also the first Gannon player to reach double figures in a season opener since Ron Hollis passed out 10 vs. CW Post on Nov. 24, 2006.
LOTS OF DEPTH
  • Gannon leaned on its depth in its two-game series against Kentucky State on Jan. 12 and Jan. 13. Of the 15 total players on the roster, 13 players saw playing time in the series. In both games, 10 different players contributed at least one point. 
PICKING UP WHERE HE LEFT OFF
  • Chris Clancy (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Peter's Boys) picked up where he left off starting both games against Kentucky State and is averaging a team-high 15.0 points per contest. He reached double digits in scoring in both contests after netting 15 points each night. 
  • On the defensive end of the floor, Clancy created five total steals, including a career-best four steals against Kentucky State on Jan. 12. 
GETTING THE JOB DONE
  • Kevin Dodds (Downingtown, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) is averaging 9.0 points and team-best 8.5 rebounds per game. In game two against Kentucky State on Jan. 13, Dodds logged his first double-double of the season and second of his career after hauling a game-high and career-best 13 rebounds with 12 points. 
FACING DAEMEN
  • This will mark the 12th all-time meeting between these two programs and first since the 2012-13 season when the Knights topped the Wildcats, 65-46, to win the 29th annual Gary Miller Classic.

SCOUTING THE WILDCATS
  • Daemen enters the 2020-21 season after posting a 24-8 overall record last season and made an appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The Wildcats are members of the East Coast Conference. 
  • Daemen is positioned tied for No. 25 in the D2SIDA National Media Poll and receiving votes in the NABC Top 25 Poll. 
  • Daemen was scheduled to play Mercyhurst on Jan. 16 before the contest was postponed due to COVID-19 protocol. 
  • Daemen is led by head coach Mike MacDonald, who is entering his seventh season. He has a compiled a 129-51 over six seasons. 
  • The Wildcats are led by redshirt senior Andrew Sischo after averaging 24.9 points and 11.7 rebounds last season. Sisch set the East Coast Conference record for total points (773) and field goals (298). He also led the nation in total rebounds (362) and double-doubles (22).
