ERIE, Pa. — As the first month of the 2019-20 school year nears its end, Gannon kicks off four days of festivities for Homecoming and Family Weekend this weekend.
Athletics highlights include a pair of volleyball matches at home, as well as the homecoming football game Saturday afternoon.
Plenty of activities all over campus will be taking place throughout the weekend, beginning Thursday with a lecture and a performance of "Almost Maine" at the Schuster Theater. Friday night features more gatherings, plus a "Flashback to Antlers" at the Knight Club. Saturday is action-packed as well, and Sunday closes the weekend with a 5k and brunch with President Taylor.
Saturday's tailgate will shut down 4th Street between Peach and Myrtle, and Sassafras Street between 3rd and 5th. Beer and liquor sales from U Pick 6, and food from Underdog BBQ will be available in the Recreation and Wellness Center parking lot, and student performances will once again take place on 4th Street between the Rec Center and North Hall.
The homecoming football game, presented by Cobblestone Hotel and Suites, will kick off at a special time of 1 p.m., and the homecoming court and king and queen will be announced at halftime. Immediately following the ceremony, fans will be treated to a special joint performance from the Gannon club dance and competitive cheer and dance teams.
