SCOUTING GANNON
  • Gannon was able to move the ball successfully last week against Kutztown, but wasn't able to consistently find the end zone as the Golden Bears picked up a 35-10 win.
  • The Golden Knights have recorded at least one interception on defense each game this season. Four different players have a pick, and Gannon is 20th in the country with five total interceptions.
  • Gannon is looking to win its PSAC West opener for the first time since 2014.

SCOUTING CLARION
  • Quarterback Jeff Clemens accounted for three total touchdowns in the team's loss against Shepherd last week. The Golden Eagles allowed the high-powered Shepherd passing attack to accumulate 394 yards though, including scoring strikes of 61, 24, 25 and 40 yards.
  • Running back Mylique McGriff leads the PSAC through three weeks with 353 rushing yards, helping bolster an offense that averages 40.0 points per game and 427.0 yards of offense.
  • The Eagles are 2-1 or better through Week 3 for the first time since their impressive 7-4 season in 2015. In head coach Chris Weibel's first year at the helm, Clarion started the season by winning its first seven games.

UP NEXT
  • The Golden Knights remain at home for a clash with cross-county foe Edinboro on Oct. 5.
  • The noon kickoff from McConnell Family Stadium will be preceded by a ceremony with representatives from the conference as they honor Gannon's members of the PSAC 150 contributors, announced in August.
