ERIE, Pa. - With the Gannon baseball season beginning this Friday, a visual preview has been compiled in preparation for the 2019 campaign.
Gannon opens the season this weekend with three games in West Virginia, beginning on Friday, February 22 against Mansfield (10:00 AM) and Glenville State (1:30 PM) at the Sue Morris Sports Complex.
The Golden Knights return five position players from last season, including 2019 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Preseason All-Atlantic Region First Team selections
Nate Cardy (Franklin, Pa./Franklin) and
Ian Steighner (Chicora, Pa./Butler). Gannon also welcomes back three starting pitchers and three relievers from from last year's 31-18 squad.
Despite some turnover from 2018, the Golden Knights boast a senior class with 11 players.
Jared Beach (McDonald, Pa./Canon-McMillan),
Cory Hegedus (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield),
Jarod Morrison (Hamilton, Ohio/Hamilton),
Dominic Mori (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield Area),
Alex Dobry (Berryville, Va./Clarke County) and
Matthew Yough (Chicora, Pa./Karns City) are all looking to take another step forward in 2019.
