THREE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
  1. Gannon enters the week with a 1-2 (1-1 PSAC) overall record. The Knights opened Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) play splitting the weekend with a loss to West Chester, 72-67, before picking up a win over Millersville, 71-62, last week.
  2. Head Coach Kelvin  Jefferson earned his first-career win after Gannon topped Millersville. He has a 1-2 overall record in his first season.
  3. The Knights have won the rebounding battle in all three contests this season. Gannon collected a season-high 42 rebounds against Millersville last week.
36TH ANNUAL GARY MILLER CLASSIC
  • Gannon is set to host the 36th annual Gary Miller Classic at Hammermill Center on Nov. 29-Nov. 30. The Knights have won 18 Gary Miller Classic Titles and are 49-15 in tournament play. Last season, Gannon edged Fayetteville State, 70-62, in the semifinals before falling to Michigan Tech, 78-69, in the championship game.
  • The Gary Miller Classic began in 1984 with a single-game format. Gannon defeated Franklin 101-64 in the season-opening event played at the Erie Civic Center. The Golden Knights proceeded to knock off Penn State Behrend 80-62 in the 1985 classic, before the event began to move towards its current format.
  • The Gary Miller Classic changed to a two-game affair in1986 when Mercyhurst defeated Thiel 111-75 and Gannon defeated Penn State Behrend 72-54. It became a two-day, four-team event beginning in 1987 and has remained in the same format ever since.
  • Last three Gary Miller Champions:

FACING ALDERSON BROADDUS
  • This will mark the third all-time meeting between these two teams. Gannon has won the last two meetings, which have all taken place at Hammermill Center.  The Knights lead the all-time series, 2-0.
  • This will be the first meeting between these two team teams since the 2013-14 season. The Knights got by the Battlers, 55-54, in the 30th Annual Gary Miller Classic consolation game.
SCOUTING THE BATTLERS
  • Alderson Broaddus enters the week with a 1-4 overall record and most recently fell to No. 11 Ashland, 98-74.
  • The Battlers are 0-3 in road contests this season.
  • Alderson Broaddus has four players averaging double digits in scoring this season: KJ Walker (15.5), Malik Bocook (14.3), Troy Cantrell (14.2) and Bruce Spruell (13.3).
  • KJ Walker has reached double figures in scoring in three games this season and posted a season-high 23 points against West Va. Wesleyan on Nov. 20.
  • Malik Bocook is hauling a team-best 8.5 rebounds per game this season. He has reached double digits in rebounds in two games this season and tallied a season-high 13 against West Va. Wesleyan on Nov. 20.
